Nguyen Xuan Anh, Director of the Party Committee Office of Vietnam’s MFA, Visits the Former Yucai School Site (October 20, 2026)

On October 19, Nguyen Xuan Anh, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Director of the Party Committee Office of Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led an 11-member Vietnamese delegation for local foreign affairs and environmental protection on a visit to Guangxi University (GXU), where the delegation toured the former site of the Yucai School in Nanning, Guangxi (the Central School Area for Vietnam). Tang Zhihua, Deputy Secretary of the CPC GXU Committee, accompanied the visit.

At the former site of the Yucai School in Nanning, Guangxi (the Central School Area for Vietnam), the delegation visited a photo exhibition on the school, watched the video documentary “Deep China–Vietnam Friendship, Comrades and Brothers”, and was briefed on the cultural and people-to-people exchange programme “The Yucai Bond, the China–Vietnam Friendship”. The delegation learned in detail about the history of the school, reviewed how it took in Vietnamese students and carried out teaching and training during a special period in history, and gained a deep appreciation of the profound friendship between China and Vietnam, two countries that have stood together through thick and thin and supported each other. The delegation also learned about GXU’s training of Vietnamese students in recent years and the results of its cooperation with Vietnamese universities.

Nguyen Xuan Anh expressed appreciation for GXU’s proper protection of the former site of the Yucai School in Nanning, Guangxi, and its continued efforts to pass on the historical memory of China–Vietnam friendship, and thanked GXU for its long-standing and dedicated training of Vietnamese students. He said that the visit would serve as an opportunity to further deepen local foreign affairs exchanges, expand communication and cooperation between the two sides in relevant fields, and encourage more Vietnamese students to come to GXU for further study, so as to carry forward the profound “comrades and brothers” friendship between China and Vietnam.

Tang Zhihua said that the former site of the Yucai School in Nanning, Guangxi, is an important historical witness to China–Vietnam friendship, and that GXU attaches great importance to the protection and use of this historical heritage. The university continues to advance the training of Vietnamese students, actively promotes the building of a “Yucai School for the New Era”, and strengthens cooperation with Vietnam in education, science and technology and personnel training; it welcomes more Vietnamese students to study at GXU. The university will act on the message on deepening China–Vietnam educational cooperation delivered by To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President of Vietnam, during his visit to GXU, further carry forward China–Vietnam friendship, and push people-to-people exchanges and practical cooperation between the two countries to greater depth.

The delegation also paid respects before the statue of President Ho Chi Minh, commemorated him with deep reverence, and recalled the traditional friendship between the two Parties and the two countries.

The event was also attended by representatives of the Vietnamese side from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Cultural Diplomacy of Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the foreign affairs offices of Son La, Ha Tinh, An Giang, Ca Mau and Dong Thap Provinces, and the Department of Agriculture and Environment and the Department of Tourism of An Giang Province, as well as by leading officials of the Vietnam Division of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange (International Student Management Service Center) of GXU.
